Nashville Breast Augmentation

By Andrew W John

There are a number of reasons to consider having a breast augmentation. For some women breast augmentation means improved self confidence and self esteem. Yet for others it is a way to reclaim their feeling of femininity. Whether you want to fill out your blouse better, restore your breast to pre-pregnancy fullness or you have had a mastectomy or injury that has caused you to loose one or both of your breasts, breast augmentation can help you feel content with who you are as a woman again.

Breast augmentation can make your body more proportional; not everyone has blessed with the perfect body at birth. There are certainly issues aside from looking great on the beach or in that party dress to be considered. If you feel that your breasts are out of balance with your body, you may want to discuss breast augmentation with your physician.

Your physician can be invaluable in helping you evaluate whether the procedure is for you. Your doctor will discuss with you in detail your reasons for wanting a breast augmentation, what you can expect from the surgery and any other issues related to the procedure. This is your body; any steps as serious as surgery should be well thought out beforehand. Will this make you more comfortable with yourself or more confident?

You'll also learn during the consultation process what breast augmentation can actually accomplish. You'll find out if your expectations are realistic for the results of the surgery. Your doctor in any case can educate you all about the options that exist.

Ask yourself: Why am I considering this procedure? Is it for me, or to please someone else? If the conclusion is someone else, think very carefully about this. This is, after all your body, and there is no reason to have this surgery done if it's not something that is going to make you happier to see yourself in the mirror every day.

Your doctor is going to make some evaluations about your general health before undertaking this procedure. You need to be reasonably healthy if you are going to have an elective surgical procedure such as this performed. You will also of course, need to be an adult; if your breasts are still developing, a breast augmentation makes little sense at this point. Again, discuss in detail with your doctor about whether your expectations are realistic.

When preparing for your consultation, you need to be honest with yourself and your doctor if this procedure is going to help you. This is no time to sugar coat anything or be timid and shy. Explain to your doctor exactly why you are looking into have this procedure and what your expectations are (in regards to end results).

At your consultation you need to be ready to discuss with your doctor when you want to have the surgery. You need to fully disclose any and medical conditions you have and are being treated for. Make sure if you are taking medications you bring a list of them with you. This list needs to include any holistic and natural supplements that you are taking. Be prepared to tell of any other surgeries you have had and if you have any family history of breast cancer as well as any results from any mammograms or breast related surgeries you have had.

With you and your physician both well informed about all of the issues, you'll be prepared to make a thoughtful, well educated decision about having a breast augmentation surgery. - 15252
