Facial Analysis- Whats the Risk in ignoring it?

By Ashley Alexis

Getting a skin analysis is the first step in skin care. But it is also the most overlooked.

Here is a story about my beauty conscious friend Gina. She went through a lot until she finally got it right.

Honestly speaking, Gina was conceited about her appearance. And she wanted to get the most out of her looks. So its no surprise that she spent a lot of time creaming and oiling her facial skin.

Additionally, Gina also kept her exposure to the suns UV rays to a minimum. She also consumed a healthy diet and her lifestyle excluded both alcohol and cigarettes. But surprisingly she still had poor skin.

She wanted supple and soft skin. But most times her face felt tight, dry and blistered.

Gina was confused. She began questioning her skin care routine and the products she was using. Then finally she decided to switch to another product brand.

So, Gina become more aware of the cosmetic advertisements she saw on cable. And she memorized the few that caught her attention.

Then she proceeded to the mall, bought and used the priciest products.

Now can you guess what took place next? Was Gina successful?

Well no, regrettably. There werent any noticeable improvements. So she had to discard those costly, once-used products.

Gina thought that she would never have beautiful skin. And she felt like giving up.

But at this stage I intervened and passed on a few suggestions.

I asked her about her skin type. And just as I suspected, she did not know.

So I educated her about the 5 different skin types (oily, dry, normal, sensitive and combination (both dry and oily). Then I insisted that she undergo a facial analysis.

As it turned out, Gina had sensitive skin. And the beauty products she used in the past were irritating it.

Gina now understands how to get the most out of her sensitive skin. And shes making calculated choices when it comes to choosing products and treatments.

And this brings us back to my first point. A skin analysis is the first step in skin care. It is how we find out what works best. In other words a skin analysis is the key to having beautiful skin. - 15252
