Get a Natural Tan with Mineral Bronzer

By Marilyn Etzel

The sun is the highlight of the warmer weather seasons. People flock to the beach for the sand, sea and that big yellow ball. To get ready for the beach some visit the tanning salon. A natural tanning process would do the trick without skin damage.

But, you still want a deeper color to your skin. Choose a mineral makeup bronzer instead of the sun or the tanning bed. A bronzer will add color to your face just as if you had been out in the sun all day. Bronzers come in different shades so be sure to choose one that will complement your normal skin tone.

Mineral bronzers look natural and the minerals hide wrinkles and skin discolorations. Minerals melt into your skin as your body warms up. You can't feel them though because the coverage is lightweight and healthy for your skin. No one will ever suspect that you didn't spend hours out in the sun.

Some bronzers contain shimmering minerals. They give your skin a sparkling look that is perfect for after hours and formal gatherings. A tanning bed won't give your skin that healthy glow that shimmering bronzers can provide.

Applying bronzer to your face is not that hard. Before applying anything, moisturize your face as you usually do. Dry your skin completely.

The first step is to apply a foundation. It's like an artist's palette. The canvas (your face) needs a base so that all of the other colors look their best. Next apply your bronzer to the apples of your cheeks. That is the rounded part that shows when you smile, in case you didn't know. Grandmothers love that part of your cheeks.

Don't stop there. Apply your mineral bronzer to other areas of your face as well. Go to your forehead and sweep side to side; then proceed down the bridge of your nose. Your bronzer will be darker than your foundation but only as dark as you would look if tanned by the sun.

Bronzer is not just for the face. The warm evening may be the perfect occasion to wear a strapless number to a party. Use some of that mineral bronzer to bring a sun kissed glow to your exposed shoulders and neck. Lightly brush the tops of your shoulders and your neck with the same color you use on your face. No one will know that you didn't spend the day in the sun.

What about your legs? They can benefit from a few strokes of your magic minerals. Since the legs are a larger area, you'll end up applying more powder there but your Kabuki makeup brush can handle the job. It was made to provide full coverage wherever you need it. Your bronzer can replace pantyhose for outdoor or formal functions when it is too warm for the real thing. No one will know about this makeup trick since minerals melt into your skin and not in streaks down your leg.

The sun can be harsh on your skin. Instead of giving you a great tanned look it will also show damage. Use mineral powder bronzer to simulate a tan without the harmful effects. - 15252
