As a parent, you try to keep your child as healthy as possible. However, now that your child is entering puberty, not only are there mood swings, there is also the issue of having acne. Your child as a result has become quite self-conscious because of the acne, and you want to do all that you can do to learn how to reduce and treat acne.

Learning How to Reduce and Treat Acne

The first thing that you should do when it comes to learning how to reduce and treat acne is to think about your own teenage years. Did you have the same kind of acne that your child currently has? If so, think back to simple home remedies that are safe and effective.

If you see that your child has blackheads or the type of acne that is inflamed, you should not try and pop it. You should also teach your children that this would cause the problem to be much worse. One of the treatments that will be effective is to get a washcloth and rinse it out with hot water. The washcloth should be put on the acne.

You might also want to try and find out if your child is actually suffering from acne. Some rashes that are caused by allergies can look a great deal like acne. Try cutting back on the amount of products that you use in the home that contain perfumes and dyes. This can cause a dermatitis rash that could be mistaken for acne.

Another way to find solutions for how to reduce and treat acne is by taking a look around your local drugstore. Take a look at the creams and lotions that are designed to eliminate acne and read the ingredients. Salicylic acid is one of the ingredients that might work well on your childs acne. You should be careful, though, because some people are sensitive to this ingredient.

There are a number of products on the market that will work on the acne that appears on the body. These body washes will help the skin become clear over time. There are other alternatives to this type of body wash that include ingredients like oatmeal. This is a great treatment for acne.

If you are finding that none of the treatments are working for your child, you should take your child to the doctor. The dermatologist will be able to find a remedy for your childs acne that will help to clear it up. It will take some trial and error, but with time your childs acne will begin to clear. - 15252
