Tips for Purchasing Genuine Autographed Memorabilia on eBay.

By Mark Turgeon

eBay is the largest online auction house and offers thousands of autographs for sale each day. How do we know if these autographs are genuine on eBay?

1. Research the seller to see if they have an About Me page.

Second, look at the seller?s feedback and see how their ratings reflect their experience in dealing with selling autographs.

III. View the seller's current auctions to see what they have available. Check out the prices of the items and the amount of items they have of each celebrity or famous person. If the item is priced very cheaply especially for a huge name in the industry, then most likely it is fake.

4. Check to see if the seller is listings as private. When a seller sells something listed as private they are hiding something. Fake autographs are what they are hiding and these seller's are afraid other people within eBay that will contact these buyers of their fake autographs and tell them they are not legit. This would totally ruin the seller's reputation.

V. An Authentic honest dealer has nothing to hide; they have great feedback and offer complete openness. Real dealers offer proof photos of the items being signed and even invest in their products by getting them authenticated by a third party authentication service such as PSA DNA.

6. You should always do research on the autograph you tend to buy. Make sure you know what it looks like and find authentic signatures to do a comparison of the one on eBay being offered.

There are many good guys out there or should I say Authentic Autograph dealers. These dealers have nothing to hide and offer their complete openness of honesty to the world. - 15252
