Anti-aging Past, Present, And Future

By Jen Hopkins

Since the dawn of time females (and many males) have attempted to ward away the inevitable effects of growing old. Through the ages almost every substance known to man from manure to acid has been spread on the face to try to reverse wrinkle formation.

Unfortunately, most of these attempts backfired on the users, and physically harmed the users a great deal, sometimes even resulting in death. However, as the understanding of the human body and its workings advanced, more effective solutions have been discovered by scientists.

Even after scientific study, research, and investment by drug companies, no treatment has been able to permanently reverse the physical signs of aging. However, some creams can temporarily hide wrinkles and other signs of aging to reveal a better appearance.

Most of todayas creams do their job and make the user appear a little younger in one of two ways. They either remove dead skin to let living skin shine through, or they make skin appear fuller to hide the wrinkles.

A good portion of the market is taken up by anti-aging products that work in both ways. Prices can vary from very cheap to extremely expensive. Buyers must beware, because no science has proven that the expensive products are better than the cheaper ones.

The fundamental flaw with the current anti-wrinkle products on the market is that they mask wrinkles rather than treat the problems that aging causes the human skin. Because they must be used for long periods of time, even cheap products can quickly strain a budget.

The future of Ant-Wrinkle creams may improve shortly, as some of the new cream formulations currently under development start to hit the mass market. There are reports of some remarkably effective new creams. Much money and resources are spent by drug and pharmaceutical companies worldwide to this aim.

As humans continue to grow old, they will continue to wish to appear a little younger. In the near future, an anti-aging product may exist that will stop and maybe even reverse the detrimental effects of time on the human body. - 15252
