I've been writing a lot of articles over the course of the last few weeks regarding concrete polishing. I came across it whilst going through sites on the internet. Since then, I have enticed my friends and family and basically, everyone I know about it. I have invited people over to see the concrete polished floor in my house. And, of course, the articles I have been writing.
Who could not like concrete polishing? Polished concrete has the combined durability of marble, the cheapness of material like ceramic tles, and the sleek, elegant finish of hardwood. All of the above in one single packaged deal. It has been the best renovation I've done so far for my house renovation.
Like all things, it's not without it's faults. Not all concrete can be polished effectively. Take the case of a concrete surface that's a bit too porous; it's probably not set well enough to acheive a proper shine. Also, take note of concrete which has a lot of cracks, patches, and fixes. While these can still be polished, the polishing can't hide the fixes and your floor will not have that perfectly polished look.
A solution to this would be adding a considerable layer of concrete on top of the existing one. This would necessitate buying some new concrete, but I don't think that's a serious additional cost. Still, I've been told that you can't always do this. I do not understand the specific reason yet, but I think it has something to do with the new concrete sometimes not settling with the new.
These setbacks, however, are relatively small and should not prevent you from having a polished concrete floor should you decide to opt for it. Concrete polishing is inexpensive, but at the same time, elegant and durable. To learn more, go to the Concrete Polishing website and ask around about polished concrete floors. - 15252
