You can save a lot of money with your new marble tiled floor if you just install them yourself. It's not a difficult thing to do and you might even find yourself enjoying the work, if you like working with your hands. All you're going to need is a little patience and some hard work to make sure you finish the job well.
The first step that you are going to take is to prepare everything you're going to need for the project. You're going to need clean pieces of cloth, several fasteners, one bucket, a plywood, a level and a trowel. Also prepare some safety goggles, working gloves and a dust mask. Prepare a wet saw for the tiles, sponges and a squeegee for cleaning up after, and, of course, the marble tiles and some cement.
You need to cover up the tiles in masking tape before you cut through it so it won't crack into pieces when you place it under the wet saw. Remember to cut across the natural fissures of the rock so it won't break down along them. This makes sure the integrity of the rock is strong while you're cutting through it.
Lay the tiles down firmly. Do not slide them into place because the cement can get pushed to the sides and in between the tiles and this is going to be trouble. Use tile spacers to set the marble tiles in uniform distance and make sure you keep all the joints straight. Repeat the process and you'll have an elegant marble floor in no time at all.
There are literally hundreds of floor types that you can get out there. Unfortunately, none of them are as beautiful as a marble floor. And you can have yours cheaply if you decide to install them yourself. - 15252
