Tips On Putting Up Marble Floors Yourself

You can save a lot of cash with your a great looking marble floor if you just install them yourself. It's not really hard to do and you might even find yourself having fun with all the work, if you like working with your hands. You are only going to need some patience and hard work and you will be able to finish the job completely.

Have some of the materials ready before you start working. You are going to need a bucket, a plywood, some pieces of cloth and some fasteners, a level and a trowel. You need to ready some safety goggles, working gloves and a dust mask. And don't forget the most important material of all, the marble tiles and a bag of cement.

You need to cover up the tiles in masking tape before you cut through it so it won't crack into pieces when you place it under the wet saw. Remember to cut across the natural fissures of the rock so it won't break down along them. This makes sure the integrity of the rock is strong while you're cutting through it.

Lay the tiles down firmly. Do not slide them into place because the cement can get pushed to the sides and in between the tiles and this is going to be trouble. Use tile spacers to set the marble tiles in uniform distance and make sure you keep all the joints straight. Repeat the process and you'll have an elegant marble floor in no time at all.
