Wood Jewelry Boxes - A Great Gift Idea

By Dane Masters

Jewelry boxes made from wood come in a variety of shapes and sizes and you will not have a hard time finding something that will be suitable for everyone's taste. There are products made for children also. If you are thinking for gifts to give, wooden jewelry boxes can be a good choice.

We all know someone who can't get enough costume jewelry in her collection. She may gather up vintage jewels or modern arrangements. You know that she has draws filled with these items and she probably can't keep everything organized. Some wood jewelry boxes are large and designed for just such a person.

I love the armoire style wood jewelry boxes that serve as a piece of furniture in them selves. Unfortunately, I have very little need for such an item but I can give vicariously to my sister who is a regular jewel horse. She collects tons of the stuff. I decided to purchase a wood jewelry box that is freestanding and large to accommodate her needs.

I really love this pretty fixture. It came in a cherry stain finish that will go well with all the other furniture in her bedroom. This jewelry box has provisions for everything - a space to hang the necklaces, various slots for rings and earrings. For sure, my sister's stuff will be more orderly and will enable her to fix up for dates and appointments faster.

If you need smaller jewelry boxes, they are available too. I got one for my husband the size of cigar box. This box is specially designed to store men's jewelry pieces in an organized fashion and distinct from mine. We have been sharing a jewelry box before, but we had to change it as it deteriorated quite quickly. This box has a very clean and masculine design and allots several slots for watches. That was what I really appreciated in this design.

My daughter is approaching the teenage years like a freight train and I thought that a wood jewelry box would be perfect for her. I chose a musical version that is painted entirely in white. This beautiful item has a Victorian feel and look with a lovely red felt lining. I can hear her playing the music each time she opens the box.

I have gifted three of my most loved people with wood jewelry boxes and they all loved it. I do declare that they truly love their gifts and will not change it for anything. Regardless of who is listed down in your gifts list, giving them jewelry boxes will ease your task yet your efforts will be very much appreciated. - 15252

What You Should Know About Cellulite Laser Treatment

By Mandy Adamsen

Many people are interested in knowing more about cellulite laser treatment. This is one of the newest modern ways of getting rid of cellulite. Does it really work? How does it work?

What It Is

There are many options and types of laser treatment for cellulite depending on who or which cosmetic clinic developed it. Essentially though, laser treatment for cellulite simply involves the use of low level laser light to break down fats. Cellulite is basically a kind of fat and is thus receptive to lasers. Once cellulite is broken down or liquefied, it can be eliminated easily from the body.

Combined Approach

In most cases, laser treatment is used in combination with other approaches for getting rid of cellulite. One such approach is liposuction. Fats are first broken down with lasers. The liquefied fat is then sucked out using the liposuction canula. The fat that isn't suctioned will be flushed out of the body naturally.

Another method that makes use of laser treatment is Endermologie. Lasers are first applied on the fats to break them down and soften them before the massage rollers are used. This makes the movement of fat out of the body easier and faster.

Takes Time and Money

It is an expensive option. Before choosing to undergo cellulite laser treatment, you should know that you do have to spend a lot for it. This is especially true since you have to pay for liposuction and endermologie too. Moreover, some people may have to undergo more than just one session. That should add up to your expenses.

It's not a permanent solution. You should also know that even after treatment, cellulite may return. To prevent a recurrence of cellulite, you may have to discipline yourself not to eat foods that may increase your overall fat deposits and increase fat retention in the body. You may also have to maintain a regular exercise program to burn fats and tone your muscles.

Risks and Side Effects

Because lasers used for the removal of cellulite is so low level, experts say that complications and side effects are very rare. The accompanying procedures used with laser treatment however may have other more serious risks and side effects. In the hands of inexperienced practitioners, endermologie could result in bruising. Liposuction on the other hand might result in infections, bleeding, tissue damage and internal punctures. You reduce your risk of suffering from serious side effects and complications by getting the best and most experienced practitioners in their field. Of course, having the best may also mean that you would have to spend more.

The treatment is also not for everyone. One other serious risk is that you may not get exactly what you expect especially if you are not a perfect candidate for the procedure. This is why before you undergo treatment, your doctor will ask you to maintain realistic expectations. Even with the great amount of money that you would have to spend, there is no guarantee that you will get perfect results. Laser treatment may help improve your appearance but it may not give you a totally cellulite-free body. - 15252

How to use infrared sauna correctly

By Zoe Sharon

In the minds of most people, a steam sauna is something that can only be enjoyed once in a while, as you have to make your way down to a spa or a club, in order to use it. Nonetheless, there are still many other people who want to use the sauna more frequently, as a part of their every life. This is why more and more people are getting interested in infrared saunas.

In recent years, more and more people are beginning to want to install a sauna in their own homes. This is probably why the infrared sauna is becoming more and more popular. All you need to do is find out from some of your friends if they have infrared saunas at home, and you should be able to find someone who does.

One of the main draws of using a sauna, is that you often feel extremely relaxed and refreshed after spending about 20 minutes in it. The common sauna works by creating a constant flow of steam, which heats up your body and relaxes the pores on your skin. This creates the sensation of relaxation and ease, helping you loosen up and release all sorts of tensions that you might be experiencing in your body.

Today, there are more people getting interested in infrared saunas than every before. In the same way traditional steam saunas do, these infrared saunas generate heat through the use of electromagnetic rays. These rays increase the temperate of the air, thereby heating up your body and leaving it feel relaxed, in the same way a steam sauna does.

Through the use of the infrared sauna, you will also begin to experience some health benefits. The most commonly experience health benefit, is weight loss. Because being in a sauna forces your body to sweat, due to the warm temperatures surround your body, you immediately begin to perspire. Through perspiration, the body then begins to lose water, which contributes to a large part of your body's weight. Also, your body has to work hard in order to produce perspiration, which in turn also helps your to lose weight.

Your body will also experience a certain level of detoxification, especially after routine usage of the sauna. Because of the way the infrared sauna works, your body will experience detoxification on both the skin and cell level.

This process of detoxification through the heat produced by the infrared sauna is a major health benefit, as it helps rid of harmful toxins like nicotine, in your body. Through prolonged usage of the sauna, people have been known to get relief from joint pans as well.

These are just some of the many health benefits that you get to experience as a result of using an infrared sauna. Despite this, it is advisable that you consult your doctor before using the infrared sauna, so as to ensure your body will not react adversely to it. - 15252

Genital Warts: How to Get Rid of Them

By Lindelwa Maseko

There is serious concern amongst sexual health experts about the rise in cases of genital warts; affecting the genitalia of both sexes they can even infect the anus. Although some people would like to claim otherwise, both male and female forms are passed on through sex and are the result of one strain of the human papillomavirus family that they all belong too. Many carriers (especially women) are unaware they carry the genital warts virus and can pass it on without knowing even if their partner is wearing a condom; which makes prevention difficult.

Worryingly is the length of time it can take for the infection to form them; sometimes it can be a few months or even many years. The person who contracts them however, becomes a silent carrier and that is how this disease is spreading rampantly in today's world. Ano-genital warts on male and female genitalia belong to a specific strain of human papillomavirus virus called HPV6 although there are now over 100 known types. Unfortunately women can be unwilling and unknowing carriers of warts as they are often hidden in the vagina and probably won't be discovered until she has visited her doctor for a routine examination of her cervix.

In the area near the genital warts growth, can be damper and women may have more discharge because the genital area is moist and warm, the HPV virus multiplies there very fast once they start to develop. Liquid nitrogen is still the method of choice for wart removal for doctors and dermatologists as the very cold temperature destroys the skin and tissue but it normally takes more than one treatment. Removal by liquid nitrogen is quite painless but even so it is not always possible to use this process owing to the area to be treated.

Sometimes these days lasers are used to remove warts but often a doctor will prefer to use electro-cautery although a minor surgical procedure cannot be rules out. All the treatments depend upon the location of the infection and even after they are removed, there is no guarantee they will not come up again. Designed to help a person's immune system to fight the infection as well as destroy them, imiquimod can be used on ano-genital warts as well but once again, it cannot guarantee re-infection will not occur (even while it is being administered).

Unfortunately imiquimod cannot always be used and in particular it is not to be administered when a woman is pregnant. This is also the case when the skin around the area is inflamed and in particular, internally. Like all edications, imiquimod has side effects and if these are experienced it should be stopped immediately but this is worth discussing with your doctor prior to using it.

As with any information based on a medical problem, full information and options on genital warts should ideally be sought from a physician as this article is for general background only. - 15252

Remove Moles At Home by the Natural Treatment

By Aaron Lilly

Moles make you look beautiful when it is alone as a beauty spot which will be your identification mark to stand different from the rest, but when they appear in bunches they will make you look awful. And you will automatically look for someone to hide in all the parties or force yourself to cover them with make up.

Moles are very common and can appear anywhere on the body. Moles are skin cells overgrowth; cells appear as cluster rather than spreading over the skin. Moles can be caused by age, skin exposure to sun, hormonal disorders and in some cases can be hereditary as well.

The appearance of moles can be at anytime, at birth or they can appear gradually with time. They can be of any color and can vary in shape and size. The color of the moles can vary from skin colored or may be brown to black. Most of the moles are just skin overgrowth and are not harmful. Moles when are itching may look suspicious to develop into melanoma and such moles has to be removed as they may be cancerous.

When skin is exposed to sun or by genitival variation moles can appear. The pigment generating melanocytes present in cells of the skin should be evenly spread over the body, if these are produced in excess they will lead to moles. The cause for skin cancer is when these moles formed by excess melanocytes get larger in size or leak. Then moles are dangerous to be ignored.

If you have such kind of suspicious moles then rush to a dermatologist now. The remedy which is prescribed by the dermatologist is mole removal surgery. The surgical methods are of three different types. The first is cauterization - burn the moles using a tool, second to remove the moles by using knife and stitch to skin, last is the laser treatment where beams are passed through the skin to remove moles from the root.

The average charges per visit to dermatologist may be around $125 apart from the mole removal surgery charge which is very common recently. When mole removal surgery is performed the skin surrounding the mole will be removed as a precaution to melanoma. The stitches leave the marks and the burning procedure leave the scar behind for the remembrance of the moles, which takes months together to heal. - 15252

History of MythBusters

By Amy Nutt

What is MythBusters? MythBusters is a television show that was originally produced for the Discovery Channel in the US but has recently begun being broadcast in other countries, including the UK and Australia. The show is dedicated to proving or disproving urban legends, Internet rumors, news stories, and various other myths using the scientific method.

The format of the show consists of testing several myths each episode using science. First, the show's team attempts to re-create whatever situation occurs in the myth. Generally, objects must be constructed to properly re-create the situation, and this occurs in the team's workshops. Frequently, re-creation of the myths includes spectacular effects, such as explosions.

Results of the myth re-creation are then measured to determine whether there is a scientific explanation for the event. The myth is then classified as 'Busted,' 'Plausible,' or 'Confirmed.'

MythBusters Hosts The original team of MythBusters cast included Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman. Both men have a background in visual effects. Savage is a special effects and industrial design engineer and an educator and actor. Hyneman is an expert in visual effects and owns an effects workshop called M5 Industries, which is where much of the show's work occurs.

In the beginning of the show, Hyneman is reported to have felt he was not interesting enough to host the show alone. Savage was brought on as a co-host. Part of the early and continuing appeal of MythBusters comes from the dynamic between these two team members. Typically, Hyneman is the straight man to Savage's funny guy.

The narration of the show is provided by Robert Lee, but in the UK and other areas, he is sometimes replaced by a local narrator.

Creation of the MythBusters 'Build Team' Originally, most of the staff at M5 Industries remained off camera, but as the show progressed, a few staff members become part of the MythBusters team. Eventually, three of these staff members created a MythBusters team of their own, called the 'Build Team.' The 'Build Team' originally consisted of Tony Belleci, Kari Byron, and Scottie Chapman.

Belleci is a builder on the show and is considered by his team members to be a risk-taker, performing a few of the most dangerous stunts. Byron is an artist and became part of the show by persistently appealing to Hyneman for a job at M5 Industries. Chapman, noted for her tattoos, is a metal worker and left the show after season 3. She was replaced by Grant Imahara, who often makes robots need for the show.

The 'Build Team' now works in its own workshop, called M7. Each episode of the show is divided between the original team and the 'Build Team.'

Other Cast Members The show has also included other cast members from time to time. For instance, the show included two interns or 'mythterns' for a period of time. These interns were contest winners and are no longer on the show.

Additionally, the team is supplemented by experts that appear when a Mythbusters episode requires their input. One of these experts was folklorist Heather Joseph-Witham, who appeared on camera for much of the first season. Other experts include firearms specialists, rocketry specialists, FBI agents, and others.

Not all members of the MythBusters team are human. In fact, a very important role is played by 'Buster,' the show's crash test dummy. Due to the fact that he has been used in many extreme situations, Buster has been repeatedly rebuilt and repaired. The cast act as if Buster is a living human being, which is a running joke on the show. - 15252

Reasons Why you Would Consider a Healthy Diet Over a Diet pill

By Ricardo d Argence

Now a days we rather stop by Mcdonalds and eat what ever is there and that is how we pack on the weight. When we look at our pant sizes and see we are gaining weight, many people want to see instant results like we get in different areas of our life.

This wish for a magic pill has lead to the development of a very profitable industry, making and selling diet pills to hopeful consumers. Many of us have tried these pills without success. Prior to dieting, one should be sure to do some studying to find the best way for them to lose weight.

People can buy weight loss pills everywhere. Many claim that they can melt away fat, suppress the appetite, and burn carbohydrates. Since there is no regulation from the FDA, there is an issue with the pills being held accountable and doing what they claim.

Finding a pill that will actually work is like looking for a needle in a haystack, and there are health risks that have been identified in some pills after people have used them with seeming success. There are several different types of diet pills available on the market, with manufacturers attempting to appeal to every dieter.

The most popular type of diet pills is an appetite suppressant. They work by expanding within your stomach, making you feel fuller. There are a number of products available, ranging from natural substances to the newer phentramin.

These pills work best when taken with a physician's prescribed diet medication which will suppress the appetite by releasing a chemical compound which numbs hunger pangs. Some of the over the counter products also use hoodia gordonni cactus. Appetite suppressants do help you with weight loss, but if you only use that they will not make the weight come off.

Fat Burners make the claim of huge weight loss. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. Most of these pills are simply a form of caffeine, while some are made with green tree and guarana. With this knowledge in hand, some of these do work, as green tea has proven to help lose weight, with an average of about 10 pounds over two months.

If you are looking for a greater amount of weight loss, fat burners will not be a sufficient source. One of the negative aspects of the fat burner medication is that they contain a lot of caffeine which can raise a person's blood pressure and accelerate their heart rate. Insomnia, as well as headaches and dry mouth can occur and is unhealthy.

With all the hype over carbs contributing to weight gain, people are looking for the solution to that as well. Carb blocker pills are made from a white kidney bean extract, and while they may work to block carbs, it's nowhere near what the claims are for. These pills are generally expensive, too. Another risk you take with carb blockers is a false sense of security. When taking a carb blocker, you are more likely to not watch your carb intake because you believe you are magically blocking the carbs from turning into calories. This just isn't the case.

Good nutrition, along with exercise, is the best way to slim down. Long-term weight loss is a lifestyle change, not a prescription fix. People who lose weight with pills often find that the weight returns when they quit taking them and return to their old behaviors.

If you do need a little lift, try an appetite suppressant to help your body adjust to eating less, but after a few months, the body will become desensitized to the supplements anyway. So find a good diet plan, stick to it, and watch the weight come off bit by bit without the health risks and expensive costs of diet pills. - 15252

Special Effect Lenses That Go Way Beyond Normal Contact Lenses

By Amy Nutt

The eyes have been a subject of intense exploration from time immemorial. Indeed, your eyes define you. Cosmetic enhancement of eyes using kohl, eye liner and eye paint have been around since the days of the ancient Egyptians and the Hindus over 6000 years ago. As technology improved, so has our ability to attune our knowledge to further the appeal of a pair of captivating eyes. The advent of contact eye lenses has taken the fashion world by storm, no less.

Gone are the days when people chose normal contact eye lenses, a substitute for prescription designer glasses. Transparent and colorless normal lenses have varied magnification factor depending upon the user's visual status. Normal lenses may also serve specific purposes - a variation of normal contact eye lenses is the bandage lens which acts as a protective cover for a damaged cornea requiring protection during healing.

Special effect lenses are a class apart. They are also called as theatrical lenses. These lenses are typically used by movie actors who may be playing an unusual character, a vampire or a ghoul, for example, or some other theatrical character which necessitates a distinctive look. Unlike normal lenses which cover only the cornea, special effect lenses cover the entire eyeball. Special effect lenses have a small opening in them through which the wearer actually sees. Therefore, those with weak eyes or those who require corrective lenses cannot wear special effect lenses as these are purely theatrical in nature. Also, since the special effect lenses have a different way of wearing and cover the entire eyeball, they are difficult to wear and rotate your eyeballs once worn. Once worn, special effect lenses usually are limited by a 3-hour duration, as wearing them beyond that may cause severe eye strain or even some sort of permanent damage. It is for this reason that a prospective user is required to obtain a doctor's prescription to buy special effect lenses. A safety certificate preferably from a qualified eye care specialist's is very useful in ascertaining if you are a suitable candidate for special effect lenses. It is prudent to wear special effects lenses under the guidance of an eye care professional.

At the opposite spectrum of utility are the normal lenses which serve therapeutic purposes alone. These can usually be worn for extended time periods, such as night-and-day wear lenses, or the disposable ones that are replaced regularly. Special effect lenses on the other hand are a specialty niche that finds usage in the world of theatre - from horror to science fiction movies. Naturally the variety of special effects lenses available is tremendous. You have lenses that give you a cat-eyed image or a jaguar-like feel. There are special effect lenses that are blood red or hypnotic, lenses that give you 'wild-looking' eyes, those that blaze like a wildfire, or give you a Zombie look. From 'white eye' lenses to contacts that make you eyes glow in the dark, the range is limited only by human imagination. So if it is a pair of special effect lenses you seek, there's no dearth of choice - just grab the most startling pair and turn the spotlight your way. - 15252

History & European Wall Tapestries

By Stacy Mar

One of the oldest types of woven textiles is the tapestry, which became well known during the Middle Ages. The tapestry is best defined as a thick material that has colored threads woven throughout it in order to create a picture or design. This is completely different than embroidery work.

During the Middle Ages, people used tapestries as curtains and around doors to keep out the cold. They were also used decoratively around the house and as bed canopies that would stop falling objects from dropping directly onto the bed. If the tapestry was large enough, it would cascade down the sides of the bed as well, providing additional privacy.

Those who could afford to live in mansions and castles used tapestries in order to separate some of the larger rooms into smaller living areas. Many were created as testaments to Bible histories and victorious battles. Very often, kings and others carried tapestries on their journeys in order to advertise their wealth. The exquisite and intricate designs woven into them made them highly sought after as works of art.

The process of creating a tapestry is a complicated and lengthy one. In the beginning a painter will sketch the design, called a cartoon. Then the weavers will extract the required dyes from plants and other sources and dye the threads to be used in the design. After all the treads are finally ready, a number of weavers will work together to complete the design. Sometimes it takes months to finish a square foot of tapestry for a skilled weaver. The tapestry weaving is a craft passed down from one generation to another. The tapestries were also of enormous size and some were known to be 20 feet high and 80 feet wide.

Some of the most common tapestries portrayed scenes of landscapes, hunting and fishing expeditions, and battles. There were even kings who had artists on the battlefield with them so that the trip could be captured and later put on a tapestry. As designs became more and more intricate, some tapestries would end up having over 300 different colors on them, looking much more like an oil painting.

Prior to the Hundred Years' War (1337-1453), Paris was the source of the highest quality tapestries. During the war, however, many weavers had to flee France, and a good number of tapestries were destroyed or lost. When peace finally settled on the land once again, weavers again took up the trade and flourished until the dawn of the French Revolution in 1789. During that upheaval, tapestries were often burned and looted for gold and silver threads.

In 1801, weaver Joseph Jacquard revolutionized the production of tapestries with the invention of the Jacquard loom, which utilized a process involving punch cards. These cards allowed textile looms to operate more efficiently by controlling the weaving process. This allowed even less skilled workers to create some of the most intricate designs ever seen. While trained personnel were still needed to operate the looms, the process became much easier, and ordinary people were finally able to own tapestries of their own.

Our museums from around the world house these famous works-of-art of the hand-woven tapestry wall hangings. It is believed the Medieval tapestries are the largest group on display, today. The price for a hand-woven tapestry wall hanging is immense. There is still much work involved in making these fine woven goods with the Jacquard loom, however the time involved is not nearly what it once was and therefore making them quite affordable.

We should thank Joseph Marie Jacquard for his invention of his fine loom, as this allows for the continued creation of these beautiful woven fabrics at affordable prices. This opens the market for many, many more to take advantage of this opportunity to own their own tapestry wall decor. It truly is a delightful way to display stylish and sophisticated works-of-art in our very own home. Enjoy. - 15252

Stretch Marks And Wrinkles: What Relates Them

By Maia Pells

While stretch marks are defined as a scarring of the skin, wrinkles are seen as ridges or creases on the surface. But can stretch marks and wrinkles be related in a way? It is possible that since stretch marks occur in the area beneath the skin known as the dermis, that the skin above the scarring can also become weak and therefore wrinkle over time and especially if stretch marks are not tended to.

As an effect, wrinkles can result to ugly-looking marks. This is because the surface of the skin is damaged or weak, the dermis is also not protected in any that can lead to tearing and eventually to the formation of stretch marks.

The Common Factor

Collagen - If there is one common denominator in skin and the dermis, it is that they both require collagen to stay strong and elastic. Collagen makes up for 75% of healthy skin and since the dermis is just underneath the surface of the skin, it applies to the dermis as well.

Collagen is essential. Now, if collagen formation is damaged in any way, this can cause wrinkles and it can also cause stretch marks. These marks become more and more visible as one gets older and as the skin ages as well. However, it is not uncommon to see a young people with stretch marks and wrinkles as well. This really depends on how much weight they put on and how much weight they lose.

Weight Gain - Putting on the weight may result in the formation of stretch marks. Losing the weight quickly will result in folds of the skin, sometimes where the stretch marks have formed. These tiny folds are wrinkles. This happens because as you gain weight quickly, the collagen fibers are stretched. And when you lost weight quickly, the fibers still remain stretched and therefore the skin does not shrink normally.

How Do I Prevent This From Happening?

Preventing Stretch Marks - Stretch marks are easy to prevent. All one has to do is to maintain a strict diet that is high in essential fats like fish and vegetables. Hydration is also very important to keep the skin healthy and "glowing". The hydration will help maintain the skins elasticity so that when the dermis is stretched it will not tear easily. When it comes to preventing wrinkles, this may get a little tricky and more hard work may have to be out in.

Losing Weight Gradually - If you are planning to lose weight, do not look for a way to lose weight rapidly. This will result in the forming of both wrinkles and stretch marks. What you want to do is maintain a solid exercise routine that will help you lose weight naturally and not too quickly. In time you will find that you will have good skin without wrinkles or stretch marks.

Stretch marks and wrinkles sort of work together when they form. As you grow faster, stretch marks may appear from the stretching. Likewise, as you lose weight quickly, wrinkles may take the place of those stretch marks. Neither of the two is pleasing to look at especially if you want to maintain a young and healthy look. But they can both be addressed with a healthy lifestyle and even some cosmetic help like from wrinkle and stretch mark products distributed in the market. - 15252

Diamond Rings And Symbolism

By Grace Jennings

Diamond rings are a staple of modern marriage proposals. No matter how people plan to propose, whether it's at a sports stadium, a restaurant or a picnic, they almost always plan on doing so with a diamond ring.

Understanding diamond rings and their symbolism and meanings is important, before you get one, though. After all, without understanding where diamond rings come from, how they are made and what they symbolize, you can't fully appreciate them.

First, it's important to look at the symbolism behind the round shape of the band itself. Many people view the round shape of a ring as a symbol of something that has no beginning and no end, everlasting love. Whoever wears an engagement ring, therefore, has accepted the everlasting, constant love that it symbolizes.

Since they are so bright, strong and clear, diamond rings last a long time. As a result, they are a very popular gift. In fact, as one of the strongest, most beautiful things on earth, they are given out every day in countries all over the world.

Many people say that a beautiful diamond symbolizes a strong bond that can't be broken by anything. That's why diamonds are commonly used for wedding engagement rings. They are a symbol of love, trust and strength, which are all qualities of a good marriage.

There are two major things to consider about how diamond rings are made. Those are the diamond itself, of course, and also the metal used for the band. There are many different options to choose from. Let's examine a few, starting with what metal to use.

Gold is, of course, the traditional choice for an engagement ring. It is bright, shiny and expensive. It seems to symbolize that the person giving the ring is willing to invest the time and money for a quality ring and, therefore, they will do the same for a quality relationship.

If your loved one is not of a traditional mind, you may need a ring that is a bit more creative. Some of the metals you could choose from are titanium and platinum. Another option would be silver. The choice is yours.

When it comes to diamond rings, of course, it's most important to choose the right diamond, using the four C's as a guide. The four C's of the diamond world are color, cut, carat (size of the diamond) and clarity. They are all vital, when choosing a diamond.

It can be very hard to choose just the right diamond ring. Hopefully, this guide will help you find just the right diamond ring for that special someone. - 15252

Class Is An Authentic Gucci Handbag

By Sakuragicho

Authentic Gucci handbags are hot items.

Women who know what's hot and who like designer bags and sunglasses seek these Gucci bags.

The handbags symbolize the best aspects of their personalities, including class, wealth, sophistication, and style.

A designer handbag not only represents a certain kind of sophistication, but is also a great investment in any woman's wardrobe.

In the market today, there are a large variety of replica bags.

People end up spending hundreds of dollars on lesser-quality knock-off handbags, since the genuine product often costs thousands of dollars.

To these women, the knock-offs are as close as they can get to the original ones.

Replica's are well-made; they even look almost like the real deal.

However, if you alreqady own a genuine designer handbag, you are easily able to tell the difference between the two.

Knock-off purses and other designer knock-offs can be very well-made.

The purchasers of these items typically find them to be long-lasting and to look almost exactly like the branded item.

In a side-by-side comparison, an authentic handbag is obviously better than a replica, however.

Why is an original designer bag far superior to a replica?

The answer is that the branded handbags are authentic and original creations.

In terms of being fashion-forward, owning a genuine designer item is key to being recognized as having superior style and sophistication.

Others view originality as true art.

It comes down to this: would you rather have an original work of art by Van Gogh, or a print?

Real carry bags, because of their very nature, are collector's items that become valuable over time.

Despite the abundance of quality imitation bags, it is often money better spent when choosing an original over a replica.

While knock-off purses may be designed to last a long time, they are still greatly overshadowed by their designer counterparts in terms of overall quality.

Besides, even the uninitiated ones can easily tell a replica from the authentic one.

If you ever go out with a mirror image purse, be prepared to hear comments like, "That's a pretty handbag. That's a fake handbag, isn't it?" from other women.

However, the carrier of a genuine purse will garner many envious glances from all the women on the street that recognize the designer product for the real deal.

Perhaps it's intuition or something that's naturally built in, but many women know instinctively if something is authentic or not.

You don't have to be the most business-savvy person in the world to know you will get a great resale value if you own an authentic designer handbag.

Many stores both online and brick-and-mortar are dedicated to selling nothing other than used Gucci and other handbags.

But even a used authentic purse can command a price much higher than its knock-off counterpart.

For many women, owning a genuine version, even though it's used, is still much better than owning a knock-off. - 15252

Getting the Feng Shui Right

By Herbert Reich

It's almost impossible to go through a day anymore without hearing something somewhere about 'feng shui' (which is actually pronounces "fung schway," don't ask). Little strings of coins, bamboo plants, and bells all come with tags saying that they will bring 'good feng shui' into your home. So, what is good feng shui? For that matter, what is feng shui?

Well, feng shui is a Chinese art going back about 3,000 years, around the same time acupuncture, the I Ching, and Taoism were developed (it was a big millennium in China, lots of new stuff going on). Feng shui is actually based on Taoism, and is a combination of philosophy, school of design and world view. Basically, feng and shui mean wind and water, two things that in China are thought to bring good fortune. In English, anything that brings good fortune has started to be called 'good feng shui' and anything that discourages good fortune, 'bad feng shui;' which must sound very strange to any Chinese speakers who hear it. Some Taoist practitioners in China 3,000 years ago started creating some ideas about how to design a home, or a pick a grave site, or build a government building in ways that all the things that would bring good fortune would be included.

This theory initially had nothing to do with actual interior design. Rather, it focused the placement of structures and buildings. What direction the exterior door faced, whether there was a river, or a mountain, or geographic point of interest in the area, and the architecture of the building were all relevant questions. Recently, a new school of thought developed in feng shui, called the black hat school. The black hat school of feng shui takes the philosophy and world view of classic feng shui, and moves it inside the house.

Traditionally, having a stand of bamboo near your property was said to encourage prosperity. So, the black hat school, when things like having a small bamboo tree in the house became possible, determined that having bamboo in a room would bring prosperity to that part of the house (which is why bamboo is good feng shui in an office). Other concepts in black hat feng shui are that a person sitting at a desk should not have their back to the room, and that furniture in a room should not be pushed right up against the walls.

It is crucial to recall how intimately feng shui is tied to Taoist theory and the overall Chinese world view. Understanding these myriad ideas and concpets takes time and dedication. Indeed, only the black hat school is widely taught or practiced outside of China. However, taking the time to learn about feng shui and its core philosophies and could have positive ramifications in one's personal and professional life. - 15252

The History of Laying Down

By Herbert Reich

We embrace them every night, but chances are good that we don't flip them nearly as often as we might. Mattresses are a large part of our lives, literally, but we honestly don't think about them much. Whether you are enjoying a pleasant night's slumber or you are tossing and turning and ready for a new one, you will find that learning a little bit about mattresses and their history can make you go a long way towards appreciating yours a little more. When you want to learn about mattresses, take a look at the history and think about what that has to do with you.

For instance, during the Neolithic era, beds were created before mattresses were. The first mattresses were probably piles of leaves or straw that were piled on top of platform beds, and there is some thought that they were covered with animal hides to be more comfortable. The first water beds occurred in Persia, when goatskins were filled with water, while during the days of the Ancient Egypt, palm boughs were heaped up in the homes of the poor, while the rich got to enjoy significantly more comfortable fare. As time went on, mattresses became bags that were filled with soft stuffing and made more comfortable that way.

It would not be until the European Renaissance and the subsequent centuries that the modern bed would come into being. The practice of stuffing mattresses with cotton or wool took shape, as did covering the mattresses with linen or cotton coverings. This must have been a significant improvement in comfort. The modern spring bed would not be invented in Massachusetts until 1855. Ten years later, the steel coil for the bed came into common usage. As you can see, the mattress has a long and venerable history, even if it took a while before it really arrived to a point that we would want to sleep in!

Before committing to a bed, take it for a test drive. Wear shoes that are easy to slip off and head to the nearest mattress warehouse. Lie on the mattress the way that you would sleep on the bed at home and see how well it holds you. Remember that if you have back problems or if you have trouble sleeping that you need to think about about a firmer mattress; if you have a chiropractor or anyone else who looks after your health in that regard, consult them about what their suggestions might be.

Though most people often overlook the time, energy and innovation involved with the development of the modern mattress, it would behoove us to remember the sacrifices of our ancestors. Learning about your mattress and what it took to craft it could make all the difference when you are looking for a restful night's sleep. - 15252

A Look at Herbal Skin Care Products

By Lindelwa Maseko

Herbal skin care has been practiced for thousands of years when only natural products were available. Unfortunately, the advent of the synthetic skin care preparations all but killed the herbal based products. Unfortunately many of these natural formulas where never written down as they were handed down by word of mouth so only a small number remain, there are even people that have never use a herbal product.

There are a number of reasons why we have gradually turned our backs on natural skin care products but probably the biggest is the huge commercial market which herbal preparations could never keep up with. Even herbal skin care products have been commercialized and many commercial herbal skin care products have to be mixed with preservatives in order to increase their shelf-life, hence making them less effective than the fresh ones made at home.

It seems that increasing numbers of people are becoming more discerning and using herbal skin care products again from companies that are specializing in making small batches of these products. While commercial manufacturers can produce them cheaper then that is how the majority of us will buy them but do you know what they actually are?

Almost everyone has heard of aloe vera but did you know is an excellent skin moisturizer and can treat sunburn, cuts and other skin problems? If you have ever wondered why tea has other herbal additives like dandelion, chamomile, lime flowers and rosemary then it is because they are cleansers and often work better when they are combined with other herbs.

You may not know about the herbal antiseptic qualities of other herbs like lavender, marigold, thyme and fennel and the use of lavender water and rose water have been known to have skin toning properties for a very long time. Products containing extracts of tea have also been found to be very effective treating people that have received too much UV radiation from the sun.

You may also be familiar with herbal oil extracts like tea tree, primrose and lavender which are the most popular and used for a variety of reasons. Certain skin conditions can also be helped with oils extracted from plants in herbal skin care preparations.

Obviously the greatest benefit of using natural products is there is hardly ever any reaction to their use, something that the synthetic products cannot claim. While herbal products will probably remain popular as there are so few reactions to them that there will be times when synthetic products will be necessary for certain skin disorders.

We all need to look after our skin by whatever means we can as it is the main barrier against disease and takes a great deal of punishment in the modern climate we all live in. - 15252

What Dental Services Fall Under Cosmetic Dentistry?

By Amy Nutt

Cosmetic dentistry, although still very focused on all around oral care and well being, revolves around practices and procedures that have a pleasing appearance as the ultimate goal.

A cosmetic dentist can attack and usually repair all of the issues that make a patient feel uncomfortable about the current state of their smile.

Some of the normal procedures that would fall under the category of cosmetic dentistry are as follows:

Removing and Replacing Dark Metallic Fillings

Though some dentists today no longer use the metallic filler to repair cavities, there are thousands and thousands of people walking around with them and many of those people are a bit uncomfortable with the appearance of their teeth because of them.

There isn't anything necessarily wrong with the old style metallic fillings, in fact they serve the purpose of repairing a damaged tooth very well, they just happen to be a fairly unattractive way of repairing the problem.

A cosmetic dentist can easily remove the old, unsightly metallic filling and repair the cavity with a tooth colored bonding that will be un-noticeable even at a relatively close distance. The problem will be fixed just the same as it were with the metallic filling, but it will be done in a way that will keep the patients smile as attractive as possible.

Straightening Crooked Teeth

Crooked teeth can, at times, be the cause of some discomfort to some patients, but even if there is no physical discomfort a crooked tooth will always detract from the smiles beauty. Today's cosmetic dentists have more options available to repair this problem that just painful metal braces.

There are options available today like invisible, removable aligners that will rectify the problem of a crooked smile with no pain to the patient at all. This incredible innovation is a huge positive for anyone who is looking to repair a potentially big dental issue, but who doesn't want to deal with the pain or the embarrassment of having it done with bulky metal braces.

Stains

Cigarette smokers, coffee drinkers and tea drinkers can all suffer from dark stains that make their smile unattractive. A good cosmetic dentist can easily and painlessly eliminate this unsightly problem and most likely recommend a good over the counter product that will help keep it under control between regular dental visits.

Spaces between Teeth or Missing Teeth

Gaps between the teeth, whether they stem from an unaligned smile or from missing teeth can totally ruin an otherwise beautiful smile. A qualified cosmetic dentist will be able to fill the small gaps seamlessly with invisible aligners or create a custom plate to fill the holes left by missing teeth to create a perfectly beautiful and natural smile.

For many people, a smile is a big part of the first impression. Many people are too embarrassed or insecure about the problems that exist with their teeth and they become shy or withdrawn in social situations, for those people, cosmetic dentistry can solve many of the problems that they face on a daily basis in dealing with others. A good cosmetic dentist can fix virtually all of the problems associated with general dentistry, but will do so in a fashion that helps perfect your smile at the same time.

Regardless of the issue that you have with your smile, a good cosmetic dentist will likely be able to fix it relatively quickly and painlessly. If problems with your smile are holding you back in social situations, and you have the money to fix them, a cosmetic dentist could certainly be the answer to your problem. - 15252

Designing the Insides: Interior Design

By Herbert Reich

There is a great deal of confusion with regards to interior design. Many mistakenly correlate it with interior decorating. Interior decorating is what everyone does when moving into a new place, or just tearing the living room apart to give it a new feel. Interior decorating is all about the arrangement of what is in the room. Interior design, on the other hand, is about the room itself, as well as what is in it.

Essentially, an interior designer is an architect's partner. While the architect designs the house and it's exterior to be functional, meet building codes, and fit a certain aesthetic, the interior designer focuses on the interiors. He or she contemplates the small touches like whether or not a door should be arched or if the style of molding should match the flooring, the walls, and the window. Interior designers then frequently go on to add all the furniture, the decorations and small touches that an interior decorator would focus on exclusively. Sometimes an interior designer is literally partner to an architect, hired when a building is first being built. More often they need to adapt to an existing structure.

The most important qualities an interior designer can possess are creativity and a strong aesthetic sense. It is the interior designer's job to take the desires of the client, and the requirements of the space, and combine them both, while keeping in mind 'minor' issues like building codes, condo regulations, and basic common sense. In the end, a good interior designer will create a space that is unique, comfortable, meets the client's needs and preferences, and is esthetically beautiful.

Of course, one of the biggest challenges for any interior designer can be dealing with a client who doesn't know what they want. It is then up to the designer to get to know the client, and find a way to design a room suited to the client's personality and lifestyle with minimal or confusing input from the client. Communication with the client is crucial, and most clients get unhappy if a design ignores or goes against a request. However, an interior designer needs to know when to do exactly that, and to explain it in a way the client will accept, if the clients request, whether for reasons of codes, aesthetics, or common sense, simply will not work.

In addition to being incredibly creative, an interior designer needs to work well with, and understand, people. A standoffish annoying attitude may be accepted in an interior designer who does superior work. A person who can't understand clients and their needs does not belong in interior design. Anyone interested in learning more about interior design as a career choice can find plenty of interior design courses to help get them started. - 15252

Hair Thickening Product

By kamitoufa

There are many different hair thickening product available on the market.

There are lots of products available for thinning hair.

Typical hairloss in men starts and the crowns and forehead and results in a gradual receding hairline and thinning hair.

The primary cause of this is testosterone destroying follicles that are receptive to DHT ( an offshoot of testosterone.)

Women can also suffer from Male Pattern Baldness. There are also other causes of thinning hair such as stress, a poor diet, alopecia, thyroid problems, hormonal changes etc..

There is a vast array of hair thickening products that can help the appearance of thinning hair.

Volumizing shampoos and conditioners can add body to thinning hair and make it appear thicker b swelling the folling (usually with a water based solution.)

Hair thickening product shampoos are one option to give more body to hair. There are also more dramatic cosmetic enhancers.

Sprays are one of these. These coat the hair follicle, although instant they do not produce the most natural look and can make the hair look stiff and matted.

The latest generation of cosmetic hair thickening product products are keratin based. These are in the form of a powder, but once applied to hair they actually look like real hair. ( This is because keratin is the same protein that hair is made from.) They are literally impossible to detect and work in all weather conditions.

The downside is that they will only thicken what you have, so if you are completely bald they will not help or if you only have one or two strands of hair they will not help much.

They have to be applied daily or whenever you want to thicken your hair.

It is advisable to make sure that any hair thickening product you try, whether it is a shampoo, conditioner, hair thickening spray or keratin microfiber, is backed by an unconditional money back guarantee and contains no harsh chemicals. - 15252

Skin Aging and Wrinkling and Way to Prevent it Happening

By Julie Samtsonn

Let's face it, getting older means your skin aging even wrinkling and sagging. When those first lines and wrinkles appear, it is time to start buying products on the market that tells us they can get rid of the fine lines and wrinkles. The science of aging is that the damage is done long before the lines and wrinkles appear and products used topically would only reduce the appearance, without actually making them go away. Unless done surgically.

Skin aging progresses and starts in the early years, with over-exposure to the sun, and climates of dry, cold winters, and hot summers and all the external elements that cause oxidants to attack the skin cells and accelerate the fat stores in cells, that hold the vitamins and hydration to keep them appearing plump. Once the fat stores are reduced, they start to shrivel and dry and do not reproduce new cell growth as quickly. The turnover of cells slows, to where the outer layer of skin is composed of older, more weathered cells. These older cells appear dull, lack a glow, and facial muscle contractions have started forming intense wrinkles in the form of smile lines, frown lines, brow lines, crow's feet and general sagging from the beginning breakdown of facial muscles, and many rush to the aid of anti-aging creams and anti wrinkle creams to help reduce the appearances.

The best preventions for aging skin are Limit Sun exposure, especially in the hottest parts of the day; always use sun block to limit UV ray exposure when you are in the sun. Use Sunglasses, to help block UV rays and protect the fine skin in the eye area. Avoid Tanning Beds, these use UV rays to accelerate tanning, and are worse than regular sun exposure, as they do not provide the natural nutrients or benefits derived from sunlight. Eat a healthy diet, rich in fruits and vegetables and high in antioxidants, which help promote healthy cell production and eliminate toxins. Take vitamins and supplements such as Vitamin A, C and E, which promote healthy skin cell growth. Don't smoke, for many health reasons, but for skin, the oxidants produced by smoking slow skin cell turnover and the repetitive facial gestures, such as pursing lips cause fine lines and wrinkles.

Use anti-oxidants enriched skin care solutions that promote hydrating, as dry skin cells will make you look older so they should be exfoliated. Focus around the eye area, because this is where aging begins first with puffiness and fine lines, around the thinner skin in the area. Retinol A products will remove dead, dry skin cells that are found in the form of chemical peel. This will show the healthy, new cells underneath and enhance new cell growth, elastin and collagen production.

These hints will help prevent premature aging, along with the use of anti aging creams and anti wrinkle creams. Don't wait until you start seeing the signs to start preventing aging skin symptoms. - 15252

Can looks kill? Well we don't know about that, but a pair of piercing eyes certainly can! The eyes once called the 'windows to the human soul' have since become the tool to present a whole new you. Your eyes are the most noticeable facial feature and can enhance your personality when projected the right way. Depending upon perception and cultural setting, the color of the eyes may reflect a person's traits too. For example, dark intense eyes are purported to be the associated with seers, soothsayers and even criminals. Blue eyes are synonymous with royalty and have a certain sex appeal. Brown eyes are apparently 'dreamy' and romantic, while green eyes are believed to suggest feline qualities. The hold of the color of eyes on the human psyche is for real; no wonder people go to great lengths to showcase them, mold them modify them.

Enter the era of contact lenses - visual add-ons that serve dual roles, that of visual correction as well as a beauty aid. Normal lenses are usually used for therapeutic purposes as a substitute for glasses. These colorless eye lenses are manufactured with an ophthalmic value and have the requisite magnification number as recommended by the ophthalmologist. The lenses are transparent and preserve your true eye color. For those seeking colored eyes there are in fact a host of choices. Colored contact lenses are usually favored by those looking to mold their natural looks with a pair of arresting eyes. There exist a range of colored lenses to add to your aesthetic appeal. The fun with colored lenses mean that they can be worn by almost anyone, as long as you take your overall persona into consideration. Present the right image by opting for the appropriate eye color depending upon the occasion. Try wearing a subtle shade for an afternoon engagement and a bold striking pair for an evening out.

The common variety of colored eye lenses is opaque and tinted variety. Opaque lenses do not allow the original eye color to be seen and are used by those who want to conceal their original eye color. Tinted colored lenses allow the original eye color to be seen and are used by people who wish to enhance the original color of their eyes. Colored lenses also have an added advantage over normal lenses in that they have inbuilt UV protection. This helps protect your precious pair from harsh sunlight. If you wear prescription lenses but wish to enchant your audience with a pair of distinctive colored lenses, try colored contacts that have the corrective properties. These dual lenses have the magnification factor desired inbuilt. Ensure however that you don't compromise on quality over cost; combining the color and magnification requires a high degree of industrial precision and this makes the high-quality colored lenses rather pricey.

The cheaper ones may even cause blurring of vision due to the color introduced by substandard manufacturing processes. And the engineering difficulties involved mean that very high magnifications cannot be introduced into colored lenses. While this may seem like bad news for those with much weaker eyes, you know that you are getting the best out of your normal transparent lens where the corrective power is well retained. Finally, whether you are looking for the most popular contact lenses, or a pair to enhance your looks, the market provides a dazzling array - just pick the pair for you and be your own fashion icon!

What are the best hairstyles for thinning hair?

By Stephen Lambert

If you have fine or thinning hair you might feel it is difficult to find a hair style that suits you. A trip to a barber or hairdresser can be a source of distress.

It is important that you can discuss your fine or thinning hair and the style you want with the person cutting it and not feel any embarrassment or distress.

To avoid the situation of ending up with a style you did not want be sure to discuss your desired style with your hairdresser in full.

And in no circumstances attempt the dreaded 'comb over' by growing your hair at the sides and the back long and combing over the fine or receding areas.

This will almost definitely bring unwanted attention and highlight what you are trying to conceal.

Dyeing the hair lighter will nearly always help by reducing level of contrast between the hair and scalp.

Of course, if you have a darker scalp then a darker colour would be better.

There are also a vast range of thickening shampoos and conditioners that add volume to the hair and are less likely to break and damage the already weakened follicle.

It is also advisable not to let fine or thinning hair get too greasy.

Hair cuts around chin length are excellent for women.

As is similar for men, hair that is too long will make the hair appear weaker and thinner than it actually is.. Curling irons and straighteners should be avoided as they can seriously damage hair.

A short cut with hair brushed behind the ears is a most suitable look.

Extensions are an absolute no-no and will add stress to an already weakened hair follicle.

As distressing as fine and thinning hair can be there are different styles that can benefit you. - 15252

A guide to Interior Decorating

By Sarah Blanch

Throughout the course of history the number three has always been significant. From the early days of Greek and Roman mythology to modern times, the number three has always played a part in cultural roles and customs. Therefore, it should be of little surprise that the number three is widely used throughout the interior decorating community.

Applying the "principle of 3" to your own home can be a fun and unique way to spruce things up. For instance, why not try grouping some of your favorite items together in three's? This works especially great with candles, fake fruit, books, photos...the only limit is your imagination!

It is important to remember when grouping your items, to make sure they are all of the same category or that they can be grouped together by similar functionality or dcor style. An example of this would be to use three different kinds of imitation fruit in a decorative bowl.

Size is another important consideration. Your items should be of varying sizes, though not too big. For example, using three candles of different sizes work quite well. You should also make sure that there isn't any other dcor in the same area that will distract the attention away from your grouping.

Because of the ease of this decorating technique, you want to be careful not to overdo it. You can always alternate your grouping as you feel so inclined. By simply using one of these examples, you will bring a fresh new atmosphere into your home. - 15252
