A Practical Guide To Different Floor Types

By Alix Montoya

If you look for all available floor types in the market today, your search would return thousands of results. That's because the choices on floor types are growing in numbers every passing day. So if you're feeling a bit daunted by all them, here are a few ones to give you some ideas.

Carpeting comes in many different kinds like wool, nylon and pile. I recommend asking a professional interior designer if you're thinking about which carpet to choose. For places that get a lot of foot traffic, you can go with durable wool. Berber would be great for family rooms. Price ranges between $15 and $30 per yard.

Ceramic tiles give a sleek and sophisticated look and it comes in many different sizes and colors which you can choose from. It is weaker than other materials so you should use it in places that you want to look nice but not often travelled. Prices range from $8 to $15 per square foot.

Polished concrete is definitely the best one. It gives you a modern look that fits any room it's in. It's as durable as marble but not nearly as expensive. If you think it's too cold, contractors can easily have heating tubes put beneath to keep it warm when it's cold outside.

These are just a few ideas to think about. There's a lot more available and all you have to do is make up your mind. But I find it's always best to ask professionals for help when you're choosing because you do not want to make an expensive and ugly mistake. - 15252
