California Air Conditioning and Heating

By Matt Trueblood

Every time that the mercury creeps up in Los Angeles, it is the same story, only the names of the victims have changed. An innocent family returns home after a day spent out having some fun. They are hot and tired from their day's activities and looking forward to a relaxing eveningand thento their absolute horror, they find that it is a sweltering 95 degrees inside of their house and that their air conditioning unit is broken.

Desperately, one of the parents dials the first telephone number under the yellow page heading California air conditioning. First you get a busy signal, and then an exasperated sounding operator picks up the phone on the seventh ring and chuckles when you explain that they need to send a repair man out right away.

Then her tone turns to all seriousness, "Sir, I apologize but you need to have your unit regularly maintained in order to guarantee that it will work. We can send someone out in a couple days to take a look at it."

As a matter of fact, you will get that very same response from all of the California air conditioning service providers that you contact on one of the hottest days of the year. People don't realize how important it is to have their air conditioners serviced annually for preventative care.

Residents of California also do not realize the importance of properly maintaining their heaters. They assume that since they do not use them regularly that they will maintain themselves. But California heating businesses know better. A heating unit that sits there unused needs the same scheduled maintenance as a heater being used in New York.

If you don't properly maintain your heater expect the same scenario as above, with only the temperature changing. The very first time that the mercury drops below fifty, every California heating company is getting called non-stop by concerned residents asking why their heater is not working.

And your favorite phone operator will pick up the phone in her typical demeanor and ask, "Sir, when is the last time that you had your filter on your heater changed?" And then there is a long pause on your end of the phoneheaters have filters?

The best advice that California air conditioning and California heating companies can offer you is to properly maintain your units and take advantage of preventative care. You can compare proper maintenance to changing the oil on your car, if you expect your car to keep running, you have to get the oil changed and take the car in for preventative maintenance services in order to guarantee that it works when you are counting on it the most. - 15252
