One of the best ways you can add a touch of warmth and style to your home is to use area rugs. Even if you have wall to wall carpeting, area rugs can be the perfect accent in any room when it comes to home decorating. When you are using area rugs over carpeting, you do not have to worry so much about the rug slipping, as you do when you are using area rugs on bare floors. You can use area rugs on carpeting under furniture, as a centerpiece of a room, in walkways and any other place that you would ordinarily use area rugs.

Decorating with runner area rugs are very functional without compromising beauty. Hallways and entryways are the most compromised in terms of wear and tear as they are the most frequented areas. Runners are kinds of area rugs that are used as shields to protect high traffic areas. With these, you can preserve the brand new look of your carpeting.

Not only do area rugs save the wear and tear on your wall to wall carpeting, but they also add a bit of warmth to your home. If you want to add a splash of color to a room, the best way to do so without spending a lot of money is to use an area rug.
